"Take the law into your own hands - that’s good a plan." Spooky Mansion screams the line on their forthcoming first EP, but somehow their call to anarchy comes off cheerful as hell. Beneath their intense energy, rocking guitars, screaming vocals and emphatic drumming, the San Francisco band is rooted in musicality – creative rhythmic arrangements and contrapuntal guitar lines that insist on multiple listens. On their self-titled EP, to be released in January 2016, singer and songwriter Grayson Converse guides the music through several personalities, from the jangly surf-soul of ‘Feel That Blood’ to the Pixies-laden bass of ‘Ronnie Nimbo’ to the dark paranormal creepiness of ‘Gone Too Far’ which is about as spooky as you could want a rock band. Four close friends living in the beachside neighborhood of the Sunset, Spooky Mansion is made up of Charlie McCone on guitar, Marty Reising on Bass, and the famous Rob Mills on drums.
